[2016/04 痕跡] How Have You Been

I left an email un-replied in my inbox for months. Not that I don’t want to, I just needed some time to take all in, and trying to find the right words to convey my thoughts.

Years have passed since we last met up. I got married, and you, well, you’re still trying to find some sense of stability in life. That April nine years ago felt like not too long ago, and while some things are not the ways they were, those scattered memories still managed to leave breadcrumb-like traces for us to find.

English 8 summer classes. Grade 11 jazz band. Salsa nights. Movies and concerts. Walk along Ambleside. Hillside. Rockridge. WVSS. Ah, our teenage years, and our twenties.

Dear friend, although a simple “I am well” should do, both of us know that always meant more than implied. Until next time, let’s just keep some things left unsaid, and the memories locked up until they eventually fade as we age.
